Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are big industrial machines designed with a straight boom arm that is extendable. The boom is normally located on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are usually used for jobs that need tasks to be carried out at heights which exceed other kinds of lifts. For example, employees are able to perform exterior repairs or renovations on buildings of medium height but using these lifts rather than having the extra work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one person. These buckets are better suited to specific jobs like electrical repair, rather than general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires and are available in electric and gas configurations.
Scissor Lifts
Below the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the equipment gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Because these machinery must be positioned directly below the work location, these units are way more limited in their use as opposed to boom lifts.
Scissor lifts do, on the other hand, provide bigger platforms that allow the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface once the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a concern with these types of machines, because they need to sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are great for being used for window installation or cladding, because they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a good choice for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle utilized particularly for vertical work. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and controls the machinery. There is a bucket for where the employee could stand in addition to an actuator arm for lifting the boom and a winch for carrying.
Cherry pickers can raise employees up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to raise both heavy materials and equipment for one place to another. There are different types of cranes that could carry out various purposes. Both of these different types of machinery excel at different jobs and are great for particular applications and accomplishing certain tasks.
