The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a traditional forklift because the lifting attachment can be tilted forwards and backwards from its horizontal. The tilt which is possible on this equipment exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a huge range of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers can tilt forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Furthermore, many units provide rotating carriages as well. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things such as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. In addition, which lifting attachment plays a really main role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics could be changing on a regular basis and this gives the operator much more information to take into consideration.
Telehandlers will often have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to know a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the model in particular, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
