Forklift Tire Specs
Since the year 1917, essential tools used within industry and commercial businesses are forklifts. During its history the forklift has evolved through different forms, from a basic tractor with a platform attachment to a particular high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also evolved into particular tires, with different types designed to suit specific applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
Solid polyurethane or rubber are the kinds of materials utilized to construct cushion tires. They are suitable for indoor applications on surfaces which are smooth. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated for different load capacities and for ease of steering. Cushion tires are normally utilized within warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Air or foam is used to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They come in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the use, they come with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires are less susceptible to punctures and maintain constant pressures. Pneumatic tires are usually used outdoors on surfaces which are uneven and rough.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the puncture resistance of a solid tire with the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire. They are a great alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Large rubber tires, that can be pneumatic, foam or solid, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are suitable for loading and moving bulk objects into processing equipment or onto trucks. Big flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly used at construction sites, automobile recyclers and lumberyards.
