The lift truck usage all over the world has grown in insurmountable measures when it comes to the manufacturing and warehousing industries. A forklift is a powered industrial truck utilized for raising and transporting things. The machine has slowly evolved and nowadays there are numerous modern designs for raising and transporting things. In the last decades, the machine has really grown and the designs have changed so there are a lot of modern designs and a variety of trucks to suit each particular application. Loads are capable of lifting and reaching to greater heights than ever before.

The lift truck is available in a wide array of power types like diesel, gas powered, electric, diesel and LP or liquid propane units. The load capacities of these units vary greatly because there are a lot of manufacturers that design and build them. For example, several models can reach a height of over 10,000 kg or more than 3000.

The truck's frame is the base of the power source and is the site where the other features are connected. These numerous features include an overhead guard, mast and axles, and the counterweight. On the rear side there is a counterweight connected to the truck. This specific counterweight counterbalances the cargo which is being lifted so as to keep the machinery stable.

The equipment's movements are dictated by the operator who sits inside the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof made to protect the operator from falling things. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the frame and the mast. These tilts pivot the mast so as to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly which lifts and lowers the cargo with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

There are numerous warehouses or businesses in the manufacturing fields that use forklifts for transportation and lifting on a daily basis. Today, there are a lot of different new and second-hand lift trucks offered in the market at competitive prices. Those who depend on transportation and occasional lifting can utilize rental forklifts because they are available as well.
