Skyjack Safety
A scissor lift is a particular kind of industrial equipment that is utilized for "positioning personnel, their equipment and their tools," according to Skyjack. Anybody who is getting ready to use this kind of equipment should familiarize themselves with the recommended operational and safety procedures recommended by the manufacturer in order to stay safe prior to trying to operate this particular machinery. It could be devastating to the operator themselves and any bystanders causing severe injuries if the safety measures are not followed.

Area
In the best scenario, scissor lifts work at optimum levels on completely level ground. The area needs to be checked and cleared of any loose debris prior to driving a scissor lift over a particular terrain. In order to lower the possibility of the scissor lift tipping over and probably causing the operator to fall from his seat. It is better to avoid holes or steep grades while operating. Bystanders must also remain aware and avoid the operating scissor lift in order to ensure they do not get run over.

Inspection
Before attempting to operate a scissor lift, the user should thoroughly check all the integral parts of the machinery. The operator could see if all the components are working properly before the task is initiated, a functional test is performed while the lift is retracted. It is better to complete a daily inspection on this machine prior to the shift starting and several places even want an inspection to occur at the end of the shift also. Various companies have different rules in place to maintain safety.

Part of the inspection has to be inspecting the tires. These components obviously add to the scissor lift's movability and also provide the machinery with a solid foundation. A worn or faulty tire could blow and throw the operator from their location on top of scissor lift.
